Eco House, Oxford
Energy Efficient new build dwelling on a rear garden infill site successfully completed in 2007 with low cost living a priority. This was designed using basic principals of high thermal mass and an airtight design, maximising thermal efficiency to the north and maximising solar gain to the south. The site was sensitive and consultation with Nature England and BBOWT secured planning permission in 2006.
The building was constructed using local tradesmen and materials and using timber from felled trees on the site for finishes. On site waste was kept to an absolute minimum with careful monitoring by the client in this self build project.
