Callingham Associates Supports

04 October 2013

At the culmination of a challenging year of design exploration, University of Bath Architecture finalists enthusiastically present their schemes to a wider audience.

The work exhibited represents the final years of the B.Sc and the M.Arch programmes and demonstrates each student’s unique investigation into a particular thesis.

Project briefs include the department’s flagship Basil Spence Project, this year entitled ‘Floating World’ - a temporary theatre on the Southbank. Here the integration of engineering and architecture is used as the generator of design. Students of both disciplines, including our very own Lauren Carpenter, worked collaboratively in groups, embodying the balance between the poetic and the practical that characterises Bath.

B.Sc students’ individual projects were set in the city of Gloucester under the overall theme of City as Wilderness. Meanwhile the M.Arch students visited a host of European cities, proposing master-plans and individual schemes within them.

Callingham Associates is proud to have sponsored this event and one of our family at the University of Bath

Architectural Annual 2013.
